Blog #7 on this video: drones in war video
If we believe in freedom, democracy and justice, what is your opinion of Drones in war? A thoughtful paragraph is expected.
I believe that drones used in a military setting are very helpful and practical, they can take the place of many soldiers and save many lives. But when they are misused in an inhumane way they can become a serious issue worth debating about.
Drone strikes in the middle east save the U.S. money by eliminating the cost of soldiers transportation, food, shelter, and pay, but when they are used in an unprofessional manner and kill innocent people they become a menace to all innocent people.
I believe that a combination of soldiers assisted with drones would have a more effective and precise effect on an area where enemies and innocent civilians live. The video talks about how the U.S. government strikes "blindly" at wherever they believe there is an enemy threat, even if there are really civilian lives in danger. I believe that this is wrong, by using foot soldiers to gain intelligence on an area and effectively clear out all of the civilians would nearly eliminate the threat of civilian casualties.
